Ryan Chamberlain

Ryan Chamberlain, Owner/Founder

Ryan Chamberlain has improvised his way right into training kids how to improvise. During a family road trip his Mom turned around and said, “Use that talent! Making people laugh is an important thing.” He took that advice and trained at Second City, IO, ComedySportz and was fortunate enough to be a player with pH Productions. Years later his daughter asked how she might be able to try improv, while driving to music class, and he somehow ended up building The Improv Garage.

During the week Ryan works as a Sales Representative in the marketing industry but nights and weekends sees him being a Dad and instructing courses at The Improv Garage. He feels that learning how to improvise can help children (and adults) trust themselves and be ready for all the “audience suggestions” that life can bring.

Jeff Ford

Jeff Ford, Owner/Founder

Jeff has been improvising since before his hair was gray, and his hair has been gray for a long time. He was a co-founder of pH Productions, a comedy theater company that performed in Chicago from 2002-2012. During that time he performed weekly in pH’s signature shows, pHrenzy and pHamily. He also created, directed and performed in pH’s first Spotlight Show, Bad Advice. During his time in Chicago, Jeff also studied at The Second City and The iO Theater.

As a teacher at The Improv Garage, Jeff loves helping students learn to trust themselves and others and use their improv skills to move with grace and confidence in the world.

Andy Boeta

Andy Boeta, Owner/Founder

Andy’s life has been a rollercoaster, a very colorful and vivid ride. Being artistic has always been a big thing since in his life from an early age. As a kid he would play with his brother and cousins and he would create imaginary worlds with characters, places and magical objects. Later in his life, he found himself making videos for the sake of art and entertainment, to then evolve into writing scripts and getting together with friends from college and filming them; art is in him and he lives for it. After getting his degree in music, he became a music instructor at House of Music in 2019, where he met Ryan Chamberlain, who then both, took off to a new adventure alongside Jeff Ford.

One of Andy’s favorite quotes is, “Earth without art is just ‘Eh’”. He believes life without expression would be dull and monochrome. Splashing some color into it at any given time is his passion, and he’s not leaving anyone behind. He thrives on bringing people with him, building trust and honesty on this crazy ride we all call ‘life’.
